Rihanna and Prince Harry Get An HIV Test Together for World AIDS Day Photo

Don’t you kinda feel like Prince Harry and (my queen) Rihanna would maybe, possibly, get along and be friends? What I wouldn’t give to see Harry by Rihanna's side at a Lakers game, sharing a large popcorn.

While my dreams for the pair to go courtside may be a bit farfetched, the two did come together for an important cause. The two connected in Rihanna's native Barbados to recognize and create awareness for  World AIDS Day, a day for us all to acknowledge and support those with HIV and talk about prevention and impact.

The two joined together in the capital of Bridgetown for the “Man Aware" event held by the Barbados National HIV/AIDS Commission. Both Rihanna and Prince Harry were tested at the event, and managed to smile as their blood was being drawn (meanwhile, nurses have to strap me into a chair). The testing was to raise awareness of how quick and (almost completely) painless HIV testing can be, and to eliminate stigma of being tested for STD’s.

Rihanna couldn’t help but tease Harry as he winced while taking his test. "Oh, that's not bad," she said after she was pricked. "You made it seem like it hurt,” she said to Harry. Perhaps my Lakers dreams are closer than I initially thought?

"It's amazing how quick it is," Harry said during a Facebook Live event in July, where he was also tested. "It's better that everyone goes and gets tested," he said. "Why wouldn't you? Whether you're a man, woman, gay, straight, black, white, whatever, even ginger, why wouldn't you come and have a test?"

Are you inspired by Rihanna and Prince Harry's proactiveness (and friendship) like we are? Go to aids.gov to find out where you can get tested in your area.
