The Russian band Pussy Riot were forced to hear their name in vain when Donald Trump said he was going to “grab her by the pussy” (still cringing). Never a group to back down from a challenge, they whipped up a little diddy that you can gleefully chant all the way up to election day in beyond! It's also just a great song name: Straight Outta Vagina__. Naturally, team THINX would like this on a banner displayed outside our office. We’re working on it.

The song features lyrics like, “Don’t play stupid / don’t play dumb / vagina’s where you’re really from," (tru, unless a C-section), because perhaps Drumph needs a reminder that he isn’t above the whole birthing process.

Pussy Riot, a feminist punk band from Moscow, were in prison for 2 years after criticizing Vladimir Putin in 2012’s “Punk Prayer” and Nadya Tolokonnikova wasn’t coy when talking about their latest hit. “This song could be considered an answer to Trump, but I believe the idea of powerful female sexuality is much bigger than any populist megalomaniac man,” Tolokonnikova said. “Vagina is bigger than Trump.” Ugh, can we add that last part to our banner before it’s printed?

The video feature women with beanies pulled over their faces, holding a sign that says “The Patriarchy Is Boring” (truth). In another scene, the women dance in turtlenecks with translucent bottoms, exposing their (fake gasp) vaginas!

Now sing it with us-- “V.A.G.I.N.A./We got pussy for days/Back up, pussy don’t play!” The modern day, B.A.N.A.N.A.S.? We’d like to think Gwen would approve.
