5 Bloody Great, Not So Scary Facts About Your Period Photo

1. Body Cleanse

You know what's scarier than creepy clowns and masked men with chainsaws? Bacteria build up. The menstrual cycle is your body's way of cleaning out all the bad gunk inside of you, along with excess iron! Like a juice cleanse... But not. Your period actually lowers your risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, and Alzheimer's.

2. Eat All The Candy

If your period happens to fall on October 31st, consider it a booo-lessing in disguise and thank your hormones. The fluctuation of serotonin results in those cravings of certain sweets, making you feel happier and more relaxed. So go ahead and eat a few pieces of that Halloween suga'  >.<

3. Bloody Beautiful

While the first or second day of your period can make you feel like a real-life whale, studies show that most women think they look drop dead gorgeous at the end of their monthly cycle. The perfect combination of hormones are released, making you do a double-take at your reflection. Maybe it's time to take that sexy costume out of the closet after all!

4. Period Pals

While the science behind it hasn't been proven 100%, period syncing seems to be a very real occurrence for most women. Chances are, you and your tombmate/best friend have reached for the Midol and ice scream at the same time at least once! So this month remember that you aren't alone. Who needs a costume party? Grab a menstrual mate and post up on the couch for a horror movie marathon instead.

5. Shameless Plug

Worried about which costume you should wear because of your good friend, TOM ("time of the month")? This Halloween, nobody needs to know. It's your bloody little secret! THINX undies are leak-resistent and moisture-wicking, so you don't have to worry about yourbooty. Added bonus: you feel completely dry, even hours after trick-or-treating.
